AI Point of View는 서울의 야경을 전통과 첨단 기술로 재해석하며, 디지털 미디어 아트의 경계를 확장하는 혁신적인 프로젝트로 주목받고 있다.
Compound Collective가 선보인 ‘AI Point of View’는 전통 한국 미학과 현대 도시의 감각을 결합한 디지털 애니메이션이다. 이 작품은 서울과 한국을 독특한 시각으로 재해석하는 데서 영감을 받았다. 전통적인 색채와 패턴, 그리고 네온과 사이버펑크 요소를 융합해 몰입감 있는 시각 경험을 제공한다. 도시 풍경을 현대적 디지털 기법으로 재구성함으로써, 시각적 스토리텔링의 새로운 가능성을 탐구하고 있다.
이 프로젝트의 가장 큰 특징은 초광각 포맷과 대담한 색채, 리드미컬한 구성, 그리고 역동적인 카메라 무브먼트다. 기존 AI 영상의 한계를 뛰어넘기 위해 3840 x 1392 픽셀의 초광각 해상도를 채택했으며, 이는 대형 디지털 스크린에서의 임팩트를 극대화한다. AI 기반 미디어 아트의 창작 범위를 넓히는 동시에, 전통과 현대 디자인의 융합에 대한 새로운 해석을 제시한다.
제작 과정에서는 Stable Diffusion Deforum, ComfyUI, Runway Gen2 등 첨단 생성형 AI 기술이 활용됐다. 텍스트-이미지 변환과 고급 이미지-비디오 기법, 프레임 보간 및 해상도 향상 기술이 결합되어 부드러운 움직임과 선명한 영상을 구현했다. 음악 역시 전문 작곡가가 맞춤 제작해, 시각과 완벽하게 조화를 이루는 오디오비주얼 경험을 완성했다.
‘AI Point of View’는 추상적이면서도 세밀한 AI 시각의 서울을 유동적으로 전개한다. 여러 AI 모델을 레이어링하여 깊이 있고 복합적인 화면을 연출하며, 대형 스크린과 온라인 플랫폼 모두에 최적화된 몰입형 경험을 제공한다. 실험적 워크플로우와 반복적인 AI 결과물의 정제 과정을 통해, 예술적 일관성과 기술적 완성도를 동시에 달성했다.
이 프로젝트는 2023년 12월 서울에서 시작되어 2024년 3월 1일 공식 완성 및 공개됐다. 2개월 반에 걸친 개발 기간 동안, AI 기반 시각 실험과 세밀한 후반 작업이 반복됐다. 결과물은 온라인을 통해 공개되었으며, 서울의 밤 풍경을 역동적이고 몰입감 있게 재해석했다.
‘AI Point of View’는 2025년 A' Movie, Video and Animation Design Award에서 Silver를 수상하며, 창의성과 기술적 전문성을 인정받았다. 이 프로젝트는 AI가 예술과 디자인 분야에서 새로운 미학과 창작 가능성을 제시함을 보여주며, 미래 디지털 미디어 아트의 방향성을 제시한다.
